The Captains Flat Branch in the state's south east runs from Bungendore on the Bombala line to the town of Captains Flat. The line was primarily opened to serve a collection of mines in the hills above the town.
Opened in 1940 and closed in 1968, it has the distinction of being one of the shortest-lived branches in NSW.
