Cougal Spiral No 1 Tunnel

A broad view of the Cougal border loop looking down the valley towards Kyogle. Due to the steepness of the countryside, a series of tunnels were built through the mountains giving the old steam trains enough height to cross over the Border Ranges into Queensland. (Jun-2003)
